
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She also serves as captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's professional soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she co-captained the US women's national soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was integral in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time and was the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the game-winning goal the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
